Brazilian Music Institute Presents Terra Brazil Meets Jazz

About This Show

"Terra Brazil Meets Jazz" is the culminating performance of the Brazilian Music Institute, an intensive week of musical instruction (May 22-26, 2017) featuring outstanding Brazilian musicians presented by the University of Florida's School of Music in collaboration with Broward College. The concert features special guest artists Sinho Francisco, Cesinha, and the Brazilian Voices with Brazilian Music Institute faculty artists Vadim Arsky, Alex Berti, Clyde Connor, Larry Crook, Jason Hainsworth, Mike Orta, Beatriz Malnic, Ulisses Rocha, Welson Tremura, Scott Wilson, and Todd Wright as well as selected Brazilian Music Institute participants. Join us in celebrating the diversity of Brazilian northeastern music and a "jazzy" concert combining styles of frevo de bloco, coco, maracatu, and embolada. The show is also a special encounter of friends sharing these important moments with affinities for lush harmony, syncopated rhythm, and beautiful melody.
